Can I put my K-Cup® pod into the recycling bin?

Similar to many recyclable plastic containers that should be emptied prior to recycling, we recommend you first peel the lid, empty the grounds and then toss in the recycling bin in order to ensure successful recycling.  The filter does not need to be removed.  Please check locally, #5 plastic is not yet recycled in all communities.

Will the eco k cup pod work keurig k cup?

Pods will not work in K-Cup machines and K-Cups won’t work in pod machines.

 

Can you recycle K-Cup® pods?

You can find Recyclable K-Cup® pods by looking for the recyclable label both on our website and on the pod box packaging, and each pod has a “#5”plastic symbol stamped on the bottom of the pod. Please check locally, #5 plastic is not yet recycled in all communities.

Keurig have started the transition to recyclable* K-Cup® pods, and  they say that by the end of 2020, 100% of their K-Cup® pods will be recyclable*.

The new pods are made of polypropylene #5 plastic which is a widely accepted recyclable plastic throughout North America. Recyclable K-Cup® pods can be recycled in communities that accept #5 plastics. Please check locally; #5 plastic is not yet recycled in all communities.

Nespresso use aluminium for the capsules protecting the coffees to ensure you get the freshest cup of quality coffee every time. It provides the best protection against oxygen, light and humidity, which can really affect taste.

The aluminium is also 100 percent and infinitely recyclable, meaning Nespresso coffee capsules start as and become new aluminium products once recycled.

These pods are washable, refillable and reusable. They work with Phillips Senseo machines and you can fill them with any ground coffee.
